At Go2Sim, we’re passionate about supporting the future of technology by sharing our knowledge and experiences with the next generation of innovators.

Recently, members of the Go2Sim team – David, Dimi, and Sharon – were delighted to visit The Fallibroome Academy in Macclesfield after being invited by Simon Howarth, Head of Department for IT & Computer Science. The session gave Year 12 students studying technology the opportunity to explore the many career pathways available within the sector and gain valuable insight from professionals working across the industry.

David introduced students to Go2Sim, explaining how the business connects information and data across systems and organisations to enable smarter decision-making. By showcasing real-world examples of integrated technology, he demonstrated how digital solutions can have a global impact across industries.

Dimi shared his own career journey into technology, including his experience of founding and running his own business. His story highlighted that there is no single route into the industry and encouraged students to pursue opportunities that align with their interests, ambitions, and strengths.

Sharon spoke about Marston Holdings‘ NSL-iQ platform, illustrating how successful technology projects rely on far more than technical expertise alone. She explained how understanding customer and end-user needs plays a vital role in shaping innovative digital products, reinforcing that careers in technology are accessible to people with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds.

The session also explored the many routes into the technology sector, including apprenticeships, university education, and graduate programmes. The team discussed the importance of increasing diversity within the industry, highlighting that women currently represent around 29% of the technology workforce and encouraging all students to consider the opportunities available regardless of background.

It was inspiring to hear about the students’ own interests and ambitions. Some are already developing their own gaming platforms, while others expressed enthusiasm for emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Their curiosity, creativity, and eagerness to learn made for an engaging discussion and reinforced the exciting future of the technology sector.

Reflecting on the visit, the Go2Sim team left feeling encouraged by the enthusiasm shown throughout the session and proud to play a small part in helping young people understand the breadth of careers available within technology.

Supporting STEM education and engaging with future talent remains an important part of Go2Sim’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and developing the digital workforce of tomorrow. We would like to thank Simon Howarth and everyone at The Fallibroome Academy for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to share our experiences with such an engaged group of students.

We look forward to continuing to support schools, colleges, and universities as we help inspire the next generation of technology professionals.
